Three Days, Six Scouts Announce their Attendance, Including NHL


Top Notch Hockey Prospect Showcase begins in three days and it is now official six more scouts will be in attendance. This year’s showcase is scheduled for May 26-29 at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter Valley Ranch in Irving, Texas.

A representative of the NHL will attend as a scout, the first time in Top Notch Hockey history, with the New York Rangers.

Joining the Rangers scout will be three additional scouts from the NAHL (North American Hockey League). Attending will be: Aberdeen Wings of South Dakota, Shreveport Mudbugs of Louisiana and the Austin Bruins of Minnesota. The Bloomington Thunder of the USHL confirmed to join once again for this week’s events. The Thunder are based out of Illinois and just missed the 2017 playoffs. Also making an appearance will be a member for the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL in Trail, British Columbia, Canada.

This makes for a total of 15 scouts to attend; they are: New York Rangers (NHL), Aberdeen Wings, (NAHL), Shreveport Mudbugs (NAHL), Austin Bruins (NAHL), Bloomington Thunder (USHL), Trail Smoke Eaters (BCHL), Colorado College (NCAA), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights (NAHL), Omaha Lancers (USHL), US National Team Development Program (USNTDP), Union College (NCAA), Youngstown Phantoms (USHL), Arizona State Sun Devils (NCAA), Sioux City Musketeers (USHL) and the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks (NCAA).
