TOP NOTCH HOCKEY STAFF

Dan Wildfong came to Top Notch Hockey with both professional playing and coaching experience. Prior to going pro, the Clinton, Ontario native played four seasons at Colgate University where he was named both Best Defensive Player and Best Leader during his tenure.

Following a successful collegiate career, Wildfong went on to play eight seasons with the Bossier Shreveport Mudbugs of the WPHL, now the CHL. The feisty forward became the Mudbugs’ all-time leading scorer and second all-time leader in the league for penalty minutes. As captain, Wildfong won two championships, selected “Best Leader” his last three seasons and was named twice a finalist for CHL MVP.

After hanging the skates, Wildfong moved behind the bench as the Head Coach for the Texas Brahmas in 2007. For six seasons he has sent his team to six consecutive postseason appearances and won the CHL title in 2009. Last season, Wildfong was awarded “Coach of the Year” honors from the CHL.

In 2013 Wildfong began a new trek, coaching the Lone Star Brahmas of the NAHL and was awarded Coach of the Year as well as winning the Southern division. Last season he led his Brahmas team to become the 2016-17 NAHL Champions.

Wildfong currently resides in North Richland Hills, TX with his wife, Meagan and son, Nolan and daughter, Riley. In his off-time, he can be found on the local greens working on his golf game. Every summer Wildfong returns home to Clinton to instruct his “Shoot2Score” hockey camp.
